Pre OP

• Clear Liquids 48 hours prior to surgery
• Nothing to eat or drink for 8 hours prior to the surgery
• Wear comfortable clothing on the day of the surgery
• Have a stool softener in your home (Colace or Miralax)

Day of Surgery

• It is common to feel pain and bloating in your abdomen
• You will be prescribed pain medication for this discomfort
• You may also have bloating from the gas used during the procedure
• You may have some spotting post-procedure, but you should call if you have bleeding like a period
• It is normal to feel tired, as your body will need rest to heal
• You may experience mood swings due to hormonal changes after surgery
• You cannot lift anything greater than 10 pounds for 6 weeks post-surgery
